Feta Watermelon Salad is a rather surprising Greek Salad, as few would expect that the combination of feta and watermelon can be so interesting and so mouth watering.
It is unbelievable how many savory salads Greeks make using just a few ingredients. Feta cheese, for example, is not just one of the most important ingredients of the Greek salad. You can make a few more delicious salads using feta cheese, combining only tomatoes and cheese, or soaking cheese in oil with oregano, etc. Fresh vegetables are also a non-exhausting source for Greek summer salads.
It maybe sounds funny if you have never tried it, but this is one of the most beloved salads by Greek people in summer.
All you need to make this salad (except for five minutes) is:
Recipe for Feta and Watermelon Salad
- 1 big piece of watermelon cut into cubes (or however you like it!)
- 3 spoons of crumbled feta
- 1 red onion cut into thin slices
- 1 table spoon of balsamic vinegar
Put watermelon at the bottom of the bowl, add sliced onions and cheese, sprinkle with vinegar, and that’s it. Unnecessary to say that this salad is best when served cold. If you don’t have time to chill it before eating it, be sure that all ingredients except for balsamic were in the fridge before you start preparing the salad.
